Freelance Carpentry Project | 2021
Designed, drafted, and constructed a custom kitchen island out of rough sawn cedar to house three tip-out garbage receptacles, three drawers, three outlets, cookbooks, and a microwave; with additional storage for kitchen items. The counter top is poured reinforced concrete using the Z-Form system; with a reclaimed wood breakfast bar mounted on brackets custom welded by Grant Larouere. Project completed in two and a half weeks.

Scaled up version of King Tutankhamun’s senet game. Legs carved out of poplar wood for strength, as the table was knocked over in the action of the play. Table constructed by Grant Larouere and vinyl appliques by Crystal Coddington. Legs carved in three days and entire table stained ebony and sealed in black shellac in one day.

Replica of full size train created to-scale. Train cars, wheels, and fake cams constructed from plywood, bendy board, foam, and Masonite; paint finish on engine, along with its ornaments and railings; and installation of Tiny FX fogger in engine for smoke effect. Finished in 2 weeks, with the team at Lydic Design.

A combination of real sandstone and tinted concrete fieldstone laid on metal lath secured to a concrete foundation with Tapcons. Project completed, from lath to mortar grouting, in two weeks with the help of Jeffrey Englander and my parents.

1930s built-in wooden bar constructed from birch plywood, on molding and details were applied, including hand carved faux pressed wood pieces and a ball and spindle top. Group effort with Andrew Ferrel and Joey Dines that took two weeks.

Six double layer vaccuform statues that were purchased and attached to plywood frames and mounted on rolling carts. Constructed in one week with the assistance of Rebecca David.

30 foot metal wire frame of the Titanic that included hand bending steel, welding, and attaching fly rigging. Not including cut time, welding and bending took approximately 6 days.

Pair of matching cabinets with working drawers and doors. Finished in a brown paint stain, faux aged oil paint, and a high gloss tattered counter top. Built and painted in three days.
